Looked at some tiger gallop reference. Biggest change was to stagger the leg/arm landings. Helps a ton. It’s almost there – I think some clean-up and adding jiggles would really sell the weight.
Reboot. We’re going to finish this thing! Here’s another pass at the run. Slowed it down and offset the different body parts. Still needs some clean-up (there are hitches here and there) and the fingers and toes need more polish, but overall – I like it.
Did another pass at the run, smoothing out arc and adding more weight to the chest.
After a few nights of reading, testing, and figuring out Michael Comet’s poseDeformer script, I was able to figure out a way to set it up successfully without having to wait for 20 minutes for each deformer’s creation. The first crude test is a bicep flex as the elbow angle decreases. It’s not perfect but it shows that the extra deformation can work effectively, even without a full muscle simulation. This is similar to a blendShape setup but instead of using joint angles, which is unreliable because there are multitudes of joint rotation angles that achieve the same visible pose, it uses vector alignments to figure out when to fire a certain morph.
Big success here!
